We perform extensive due-diligence of project certification, ensuring that projects have achieved or are on-track to achieve Proof of Sustainability that enables their product to be sold as renewable. We ourselves have ISCC certification and work closely with classification societies.

In addition to ISCC audits, Venture Energy undertakes its own extensive technical due diligence of project plants that exceeds the standard PoS audit.

We analyse the technical processes of projects from feedstock through plant and distribution to port with a view to ensuring the stated carbon intensity is long-run sustainable and commercially viable at the prices offered to our customers. We look carefully for gaps that indicate the possibility of future non-compliance.

We believe sustainability is not just about a clean product, it’s about long-term reliability. Venture Energy works closely with counterparts to better understand the commercial model of the plant and its long-term viability with or without subsidy, as well as the financial strength and reputability of its sponsor.

In particular, we spend time on the due diligence of permitting and other local approvals that indicate appropriate governmental support of a project.

Our technical staff in Beijing maintain ongoing contact with our partner suppliers, with regular visits and periodic vetting designed to ensure ongoing compliance and the early identification of any challenges. Where possible, we offer upstream access to our downstream customers.
